Carrageenan is a natural fiber derived from red seaweed and comes in two forms: Undegraded Carrageenan “food grade” (used since the 1800’s as a food thickener) and Degraded Carrageenan (also known as Polygeenan which is NOT safe for food). We do not use Degraded Carrageenan. We only use a small amount of “safe food grade” carrageenan in our soft-gel capsules as a sustainable alternative to animal-based gelatine.

This form of carrageenan is natural and has been tested and reviewed relentlessly for decades and the findings remain consistent: it is safe. It has been approved by the world health organization and the FDA. We have researched many studies on this topic and have found Undegraded Carrageenan to be safe to use as a food additive.

The capsules are suitable for children over the age of two and are soft and small in size. This makes them easy-to-swallow, especially for children. We don't explicitly state this on the packaging, as some children have trouble swallowing capsules, so we leave it to the parents discretion.

We currently do not do 3rd party testing; however, we test the purity and actual concentration of DHA on the production site before we encapsulate the contents of the product.

Everyone is different and their body reacts different. In general, it is recommended to allow 8-12 weeks before expecting to see noticeable results with our Omega-3.
